Ream and run - women with shoulder arthritis

Most of our experience with the ream and run procedure has been in male patients. Four years ago lady in her mid sixties convinced me to use this approach for her shoulder arthritis, shown on X-ray here. On presentation, she answered 'yes' to only four of twelve questions of the Simple Shoulder Test.

Today, four years post op, she returned to the office for consideration of a ream and run on her opposite side. On her right shoulder, she reported a Simple Shoulder Test of twelve 'yes' responses out of twelve.  Here are her films. Note the absence of any glenoid erosion in spite of her active use of the arm.

Update, this lady has now had a ream and run on her opposite shoulder and continues to do well.
